AUDIT

401(k) Audit Services

Employers with 401(k) plans must file an annual Form 5500 with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and the Department of Labor (DOL). ”Large” plans, generally meaning those plans with 100 or more participants, must also file audited statements with the Form 5500.

The auditor of a 401(k) plan must be familiar with ERISA, Tax, and DOL laws and regulations and with the special requirements of 401(k) plans.

The DOL and the AICPA have expressed concerns that 401(k) audits have an unacceptably high rate of deficiencies and the DOL can reject any Form 5500 with a deficient audit.

It is important for the auditor of a 401(k) plan to have the knowledge, proficiency and competency to perform an efficient and effective audit which will stand up to the scrutiny of the DOL. Our team has over eighteen years of experience in performing 401(k) audits.

FDOT REIMBURSEMENT RATE (OVERHEAD) AUDIT

FDOT Overhead Audit

We specialize in providing the audit reports that the Florida Department of Transportation requires from prequalified professional consultants. Unlike larger competitors with competing interests and higher fees, we focus exclusively on helping cost-conscious contractors address their problems, by using our knowledge and experience in their fields.  We help you assess compliance and enhance efficiency.

What is a “FAR Overhead Rate”?

Technically known as a firm's "indirect cost rate," the more familiarly known "overhead rate" is the percentage of general expenses that consultants can bill to contracting government agencies. More specifically, it is the ratio of allowable indirect costs to total allocable direct labor costs.

 Our specialties include:

  • Assessing compliance with FDOT job cost accounting system requirements.
  • Auditing reimbursement rates in accordance with American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials standards ("AASHTO Guidelines") and Government Auditing Standards (“Yellow Book”).
  • Evaluating compliance with Part 31 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)
  • Testing internal controls
  • Verifying overhead, direct expenses and Facilities Capital Cost of Money (FCCM)
